On December 11, 2017, the Alley Theatre Board of Directors, donors, and their guests gathered at the home of Sarah Morgan and Oscar Brown to celebrate the holiday season and to reflect on the past year. The aftermath of Hurricane Harvey has brought many challenges and triumphs for the Alley. Its Neuhaus Theatre, Mitchell Lobby, and basement dressing rooms were all flooded during the storm. As well, props and vital electrical systems were damaged. After all this, the Alley is working hard to rebuild and has been able to move forward with its performances of A Christmas Carol – A Ghost Story of Christmas.
Managing Director Dean Gladden, Artistic Director Gregory Boyd, and members of the Resident Acting Company joined together to meet and chat with guests in the gracious hosts’ stunning landmark River Oaks home, which was festively decorated with holiday trees, candles, and delicious treats. Guests mingled in the cool of the evening on the back patio and were greeted by Board President Butch Mach who thanked everyone for their undying support. A spectacular buffet dinner, catered by Event Elementz, was served in the outdoor kitchen.
Guests: Gregory Boyd; Jane and Dean Gladden; Elizabeth Frankel; Resident Acting Company members Todd Waite, Jay Sullivan, David Rainey, Melissa Pritchett, and Chris Hutchison; Elizabeth Bunch; Charles Krohn and Paul Hope; Butch Mach; Margaret Alkek Williams and Jim Daniel; Glenn Vangolen; D and Michelle Verma; Sharyn and Jim Weaver; Beth Madison; Kathryn Ketelsen; Lois Stark; Charlene and John O’Shea; Laura Bellows; and Elizabeth and Bill Kroger.
