DETAILS:

Chaired by Saula Centa Valente, the 2017 Houston Symphony Children’s Fashion Show and Luncheon, “The Wizard of Oz,” was a hit among the 270 children and adults who attended the annual springtime family celebration. Camilla Valente (2 time TPSMEA singer who placed 1st this year in State Choir and Vocal Solo & Ensemble) opened the show with a Judy Garland classic, “Over the Rainbow.” Following the performance, toddlers to teens walked the “yellow brick road” modeling fresh spring fashions from Macy’s. From ruby red slippers to centerpieces reminiscent of the Emerald City, the table décor by The Events Company took guests down memory lane with Dorothy’s adventures. After the show, produced by Lenny Matuszewski Productions, guests enjoyed a savory lunch and wizardly entertainment, along with crafts, photo booth and the Symphony’s Instrument Petting Zoo.

A special thank you to was given to the founders of the event, Betty Tutor, Lucy Lewis and Mary Ann McKeithan.
