“The Best is Yet to Come” Gala
to Benefit Organ Transplant Patients and Families

Nora’s Home will host its 7th annual gala themed “The Best is Yet to Come” on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 7 p.m. at the new luxury The Post Oak Hotel in Houston. The event will benefit Nora’s Home facility and programs that provide care, education, and support for organ failure and transplant patients.
Nora’s Home collaborates with many of the Texas Medical Center’s health care providers and hospitals to make Houston the national leader in caring for patients facing the unique challenges of end-stage organ disease and transplantation. This haven has provided over 20,000 stays to more than 800 patients and their families from across the U.S. since opening its doors in 2013. Currently, Nora’s Home can only accommodate one out of every five requests for lodging due to the high demand.
Gala Chairs Paige and Todd Johnson, Ashley and Curt Langley, and Ann and John Smither will welcome guests to a “supper club” evening with a live performance by Vegas entertainers, The Rat Pack. The evening will also include a private casino room, a live auction with curated luxury packages, and dinner and dancing to David Caceres.
The 2018 Nora’s Home gala honorees are Linda and the late Jerry Strickland. Nora’s Gift Foundation has been fueled by the endorsement, love and generosity of Linda and her late husband Jerry as they have touched the lives of many organ failure patients and transplant families. The philanthropic couple will be honored for their selfless commitment to the home’s mission.
“Nora’s Home gala is more than just an opportunity for our supporters to attend a fun-filled evening and learn more about our continued accomplishments, but it also provides a critical path for Nora’s Home to continue to provide for families and grow to serve more patients,” said Natalie Lencioni Raymer, Executive Director of Nora’s Home. “Proceeds from the evening will help support the Adopt-A-Family fund which provides financial support for families who cannot afford to pay the minimal nightly fee.”

About Nora's Home
Opened in 2013 as the first transplant hospitality home in the Gulf Coast region, Nora’s Home welcomes patients and their families at any stage of the transplant journey. The hospitality home aims to ease burdens many patients face by helping reduce the immense expense and stress incurred while undergoing transplant care by providing affordable lodging in a loving, home-like environment. Located at 8300 El Rio Street in Houston near the Texas Medical Center, the self-supporting facility includes 16 private bedrooms and baths, a fully-equipped kitchen, community room, meditation room, education center, and provides free shuttle services to and from the medical center. In the summer of 2018, Nora’s Home will more than double in size with the addition of 16 rooms, communal kitchen, and multiple family areas and meeting rooms.
