 A Champagne cocktail party kicks off The Art of Stopping Human Slavery art auction

The Celebration

Art lover Curry Glassell invited Houstonians and New Yorkers into her home for an elegant Champagne cocktail party that served as the kickoff for The Art of Stopping Human Slavery art auction to be held on October 25, 2018. The event was chaired by Glassell and Jason Fuller. Proceeds from the upcoming auction will benefit CHILDREN AT RISK and Rise of the Butterfly.

The Story

Guests heard about the realities of human slavery, learning about illicit massage businesses that trap  women and children as sex slaves in their neighborhoods and near public schools. They also were informed of the meaningful work both CHILDREN AT  RISK and  Rise  of the  Butterfly do to stop human slavery.

The Moments

Survivor Allison Franklin spoke and moved the crowd of 50 with her words of encouragement about those who are forced to work as sex slaves and the need to stop this horrific crime.
