2016 CKW LUXE STAR AWARDS

STELLAR AWARD

Cynthia Petrello: An Enthusiastic Philanthropist with Style

CKW Luxe is proud to announce that Cynthia Petrello is our honoree for the Stellar Award. This award goes to a woman who is philanthropic and also has superior taste in fashion.

Actress, dancer, and model, Cynthia Petrello has had a successful and varied career in the world of entertainment and the arts. As one of Houston’s leading advocates and most prolific activists, she is committed to, and involved with, a number of worthy causes. With her dynamic personality and go-getter attitude, Cynthia gets things done. In 2002, Cynthia founded the Petrello Family Foundation with her husband, Tony Petrello. This charitable foundation focuses its resources on improving education, the performing arts, and medical resources in the Houston Community. The couple also conceived of and made the initial philanthropic commitment to launch the establishment of the new Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute, which focuses on the neurological needs of children. As co-chair with her husband, Cynthia raised $500 million for the capital campaign. In 2011, Cynthia together with her husband Tony, received the Smithsonian’s Woodrow Wilson Award for Public Service, recognizing their substantial and extensive philanthropic service. As well as being devoted to giving back to her community, Cynthia has a keen interest in fashion and a commitment to her own individual style. As a result, she has been named to the Houston Chronicle Best-dressed Hall of Fame. CKW Luxe would like to thank Cynthia for everything she has done, and continues to do, for her community and congratulate her on being our Stellar Award honoree.
