Dr. Parmis Khatibi and Dr. Nikan Khatibi are siblings who are transforming philanthropy and republican politics. By revolutionizing the intersection of compassionate giving and conservative values, they are redefining the landscape.
“We believe in the transformative power of the private sector to drive meaningful
change,” Nikan asserts. “Our mission is to prove that philanthropy can thrive within a
framework that champions individual responsibility, economic freedom, and community empowerment.”
Parmis is a graduate of Texas A&M University. She spends her days with patients fighting the cycle of opioid addiction and other life-threatening diseases. When she is away from the clinic, Parmis fights stereotypes, lifting up young women.
Currently, Parmis serves as chairwoman and COO for a healthcare corporation that provides mental health services to the most vulnerable community members in Southern California. Parmis also has a clinical practice at the University of California, Irvine Health Medical Center, and serves as a clinical adjunct professor for UCSF and USC. As well, she is a member of the Dean’s Advisory Group for Chapman University School of Pharmacy.
Parmis has also been deeply involved in healthcare policy, serving as an inclusive and tenacious advocate for patients and providers through her work as a special government appointee to the FDA’s Drug Safety and Risk Management Advisory Committee. She was also appointed to, and served as a public official of, the HIV Planning and Coordination Council and Care Strategies Task Force. As well, Parmis has been an advocate for Iranian American men and women living with HIV, fostering self-sufficiency and reducing the stigma and discrimination within the community.
Parmis is dedicated to learning about, and becoming engaged with, the most pressing challenges facing future generations and dedicates her time to philanthropic issues. She serves as chair for Farhang Foundation’s Generation Council and is dedicated to the continued success, education, and passion of young Iranian Americans and the community at large. She also strives to celebrate her Iranian heritage and culture by educating and promoting the richness of Iranian art, music, and cuisine by inspiring and engaging generations of proactive members, leaders, and volunteers to share their rich Iranian culture for the benefit of the community.
Parmis is the state-wide president for the California Women’s Leadership Association and the chairwoman of CWLA PAC. Thru her leadership, she engages college students, young professionals, and all women interested in public service to come together to effect meaningful change in their respective communities and government through education and advocacy. As a passionate advocate for girls, she has collaborated with Girls Inc. to mentor girls to be strong, smart, and bold. She has also spearheaded Girls Inc. programs specifically for the Iranian Community to teach girls about self-esteem and self-confidence.
Nikan is a visionary outcome-driven physician executive, serial entrepreneur, and board leader with experience in providing organizational leadership, strategic planning, public affairs expertise, and policy development. Since 2017, he has been the CEO of Ahura Healthcare Corporation, a dynamic group of companies that operates a portfolio of services geared towards the underserved communities of California. It is committed to creating healthier communities by profoundly changing the trajectory of health for humanity.
Prior to his current position, Nikan was vice-chairman of the board of CalOptima, the largest county health system in California and ranked as the number one Medicaid plan in the state.
In service to the community, Nikan is a board member of the National Cancer Advisory Board (NCAB), appointed by President Donald J. Trump; a past trustee of the CA Health Professions Education Board; a past trustee of the California Medical Association; a past board member of the Illumination Foundation; and a captain of the 163rd Medical Support Team of the California State Guard.
In recognition of his abilities and his service to his community and to the country, Nikan was named one of Orange County Metro Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40, is a Fellow of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), received the Excellence in Medicine Award from the American Medical Association (AMA), and was named a Resident Scholar of the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research by the American Society of Anesthesiologists.
Together, Parmis and Nikan launched Healthy Living Advocates, a pioneering initiative that reimagines traditional charitable work. The nonprofit goes beyond mere charity; it embodies a revolutionary platform that marries conservative principles with impactful philanthropy.
Through Healthy Living Advocates, the Khatibis have initiated groundbreaking projects that address critical gaps in underserved communities, focusing on the intersection of housing and health. Their innovative approach includes forging strategic partnerships with businesses and local governments to enhance the reach and efficacy of their efforts.
The siblings are proving that conservative principles and philanthropy can coexist harmoniously, driving progress without sacrificing core values. Their work exemplifies a commitment to an inclusive innovative approach to both charity and governance.
It is for all the reasons mentioned above, and many more, that Dr. Parmis Khatibi and Dr. Nikan Khatibi have been named Star Impact Maker for 2025
