Gule Andrabi’s passions are education and volunteering within her community. She says the latter gives one a sense of purpose and connection.

A Montessori educator with over 25 years of teaching and consulting experience, Gule acquired her early childhood and elementary teaching credentials through the American Montessori Society. In addition, she has consultant and administrator certification, has published various articles on education, and has conducted workshops for educators overseas. Currently, she is a director at the Casa Dei Bambini Montessori School.

As a caring member of the Houston community, Gule supports many diverse organizations that promote issues facing underrepresented communities. She has served as gala chair of Asians Against Domestic Abuse (AADA) and as honorary chair of Daya. She has also been a member of the President Circle in Development in Literacy and has served as a sponsorship chair for Indus Arts Council (IAC), currently serving on its board as a fundraising chair. With her experience and expertise in education, Gule assists IAC with its Urdu curriculum, collaborating on decision-making and promoting the Urdu language nationally. She also sits on the executive committee of Shifa Women’s Center and the advisory board of Kids’ Meals.

Dr. Sara Andrabi is a board-certified Emergency Medicine Physician. She received her M.D. from, and completed her residency at, Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) where she was chief resident in her final year of training.

Currently the Assistant Program Director for the Emergency Medicine Residency at BCM, Sara helps recruit, mentor, and train the next generation of Emergency Medicine Physicians. Her leadership experience at the local, state, and national level has earned her several recognitions. A small sample includes the BCM Early Career Faculty Award for Excellence in Patient Care, 2020; 2019 Top Doctors, recognized for excellence, by H-Texas Magazine; 2018 Top Doctors by Houstonia magazine; and Baylor College of Medicine Women of Excellence Honoree, 2018.

Believing it is never too early to inspire others, Sara has given keynote speeches at various schools in the HISD public school system. As well as her outreach work with schools, Sara is a member of Daya, and a supporter of the IAC festival. She also sits on the advisory board of Kids’ Meals.

During the past year, Sara has been on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic taking care of some of the city’s most vulnerable patients. In addition to her clinical work in the Emergency Department, she has helped lead the COVID response within her department as well as nationally via media outreach. When she is not taking care of patients in the Emergency Department, you can find her on local and national news educating the public on various healthcare topics. She has committed her career to helping people and inspiring others to do the same.

Gule and Dr. Sara Andrabi have devoted themselves, their time, and their expertise to diverse areas of the Houston community providing crucial services to those in need.

It is for all the reasons mentioned above, and many more, that Gule and Dr. Sara Andrabi have been named a Top 20 Mother Daughter Impact Maker for 2022.
