One year after the launch of its global partnership with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Louis Vuitton launches its first #makeapromise day to raise funds for children in urgent need through its global network of stores.
The public is invited to support UNICEF during #makeapromise day by visiting their local Louis Vuitton boutique to purchase the specially designed UNICEF Silver Lockit pendant and/or bracelet. Visiting shoppers are encouraged to be accompanied by someone close to make a ‘pinkie promise’ and to share their promise on social media using #makeapromise.
For each sale of the Silver Lockit pendant ($600) or bracelet ($500), $200 is donated to UNICEF.

In 2016, Louis Vuitton partnered with UNICEF to support the world’s most vulnerable children around the world. Since this time, with the sales of the Silver Lockit, $2.5m has been donated to UNICEF. Friends and clients of Louis Vuitton around the world have helped raise awareness by showing and sharing their promise to help children in need by linking their pinkies (little fingers) together.
One year later January 12th, 2017 in 460 Louis Vuitton stores worldwide in more than 60 countries, Louis Vuitton renews its promise to bring hope for a better life to these children with the launch of #makeapromise day.
