Friday, December 19, 2025 was a special day for Casa dei Bambini, Petite Maison Montessori, and Rozina Ali. It was on that day that a proclamation was issued by the Office of the Mayor of Sugar Land declaring December 19, 2025 as Montessori Holiday Celebration Day honoring Casa dei Bambini, Petite Maison Montessori, and Ali, head of school.

The proclamation stated that the Casa dei Bambini & Petite Maison Montessori Holiday Celebration was a meaningful community event bringing together students, families, and educators in a spirit of unity, cultural appreciation, and civic pride. 

​

The recipients achieved the honor because they have enriched early childhood education in Sugar Land by upholding the Montessori philosophy of independence, creativity, and respect preparing children for a lifetime of learning. The schools were also praised for highlighting the diverse traditions of their students and families, which reflects and celebrates Sugar Land’s rich heritage. The proclamation also noted that the schools’ students demonstrate notable achievement in independence, collaboration, and readiness for future success reflecting the strong educational foundation fostered by their teachers.

 

It was also stated in the proclamation that Ali has devoted 25 years as head of school, shaping young minds, supporting families, and strengthening the community through her dedication and vision. Finally, the proclamation praised Ali and her staff for exemplifying the powerful impact of women leaders in early childhood education, uplifting children and families by modeling leadership, creativity, and professional partnership. The proclamation concluded with Mayor Carol McCutcheon proclaiming December 15, 2025 as Montessori Holiday Celebration Day in honor of Casa dei Bambini, Petite Maison Montessori, and Rozina Ali and encouraging all residents to recognize and celebrate the contributions of the schools, their students, and their educators to the community.

As well, a number of the teachers at the schools were honored by the American Montessori Society for their ongoing commitment to Montessori education and the important role they play in sustaining strong learning environments and supporting the development and well-being of their students. The society also recognized the dedication of the teachers at the schools who have been in the classroom for over 30 years, saying their long-term service reflects their deep commitment to Montessori principles and to the steady meaningful work of guiding children each day.
