2019 CKW LUXE STAR AWARDS
Aquarian Award
Phoebe Tudor: An Architectural Historian with an Eye for Philanthropy and Preservation
-
CKW LUXE is proud to announce that Phoebe Tudor is our Aquarian Award honoree. This award goes to a woman who has made transformational contributions to the city of Houston by being socially conscious, a humanitarian, philanthropic, and committed to bettering the lives of others and inspiring others to do the same.
One of Houston’s most distinguished volunteers, Phoebe Tudor is involved primarily with the arts, historic preservation, education, and quality of life issues. Among her many current responsibilities, Phoebe serves on the Board of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, chairing their Preservation and Historic Sites Committee, and is working with Harris County as Founding Chairman of the Astrodome Conservancy, a public-private partnership to repurpose the historic Astrodome. She is a member of the William Ward Watkins Society, the advisory council at the Rice School of Architecture, and is proud to be a past President and Chairman of the Board of the Houston Ballet. In 2013, Phoebe was named Preservationist of the Year, and in 2015, she received the President’s Award from Preservation Houston. She and her husband, Bobby Tudor, were honored at the Rice Design Alliance gala celebrating philanthropy, and they received the Maurice Hirsch Award for Philanthropy at the 2018 National Philanthropy Day Awards Luncheon of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
Phoebe Tudor has helped raise millions of dollars for charities and those they serve, and CKW LUXE would like to thank her for her tireless support of the people and institutions of Houston.
