The Celebration

The Hotel ZaZa Museum District was the hottest spot in town when a crowd of over 400 came together for The Houston Professional Firefighter Association Charitable Foundation’s inaugural Red Hot Gala. The sold-out event raised close to $500,000 for the foundation. The evening’s chairs were Elizabeth and Alan Stein, and Cindy Garza-Roberts and Thomas Roberts co-chaired. The honorary chairs were Renee and Alan Helfman. Roula Christie of 104.1 KRBE emceed with flare.

The Story

The evening began in a big way with The Houston Fire Department Honor Guard, followed by a performance by the Houston Fire Department Pipes and Drums. Exquisite bird of paradise centerpieces, illustrating the red hot theme, were supplied by HEB, one of the event’s leading sponsors. Guests clad in red danced in the lobby to Theresa Grayson playing her bejeweled saxophone, and, continuing the celebration, poured into the ZaZa bar once the event bar was closed.

The Moments

Participants were enthralled by a gripping reenactment of a fire rescue by The Houston Fire Department Rescue Division. The heated live auction of five items featured “RED”, an adorable 12-week-old dalmatian puppy. The lucky winners of the spotted canine were the David Maloy family.
