CKW LUXE and Girl Chess Power and Beyond Publish the Second Edition of the
GALAPAGOS ATLAS
CKW LUXE and Girl Chess Power and Beyond are proud to announce that they are publishing the second edition of the Galapagos Atlas by The Charles Darwin Foundation (CDF). This stunning volume is the update of the original 2018 atlas published in Spanish and provides an overview of the remarkable species and their habitats found in the Galapagos Islands, made famous by Charles Darwin in his book, On the Origin of Species. It expands upon the information presented in that edition and reflects the most recent research and discoveries from the unique archipelago.

The work is the result of the collaboration and support of many individuals and organizations, most notably the Galapagos National Park Directorate (GNPD) and the Ministry of Environment and Mines. These two bodies have put into place permits, supports, contracts, and numerous other assets that have made this publication and the other work of the CDF possible.
This ambitious second edition is also the result of the scientific research of CDF staff and the dedication of the Atlas Editorial Committee who embraced its overall vision. Their meticulous review and translation of the content and expansion of the species list enhanced everything about the atlas, including its structure, information, maps, photographs, and references. This was all done in close coordination with the contributing authors of every fact sheet. Involving over 80 experts and scientists, including authors and co-authors from a wide range of disciplines, technicians, park rangers, and many who contributed data, photographs, and important field expertise, this is a truly collaborative effort.
The first edition of the atlas is described as follows on the CDF website: “The Atlas of Galapagos, Ecuador: Native and Invasive Species is a crucial resource in understanding and addressing environmental challenges in the Galapagos Islands. This comprehensive publication provides valuable insights into biodiversity conservation, highlighting key threats and conservation objectives. A must-have for researchers, policymakers, and anyone passionate about protecting this unique ecosystem.” We are certain that the second edition, with its updates and new discoveries, will prove to be just as valuable.
