The Celebration
The Gordy, Stages Repertory Theatre’s elegant campus, set the scene for a pleasant reunion on Thursday, October 29, 2020, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Patrons were welcomed back for the first time since March with Thursdays at The Gordy, a weekly, reservation only, socially distanced happy hour.
The Story
Utilizing various sections of the tasteful surroundings, guests were seated at tables in the Albert and Ethel Herzstein Lobby, the Edmundson Gallery, the Lancaster Lounge, and outside on the Radoff Patio. Jazz pianist Matt Crump entertained attendees as they savored the contents of charcuterie boxes and nibbled on bite-sized brownies. Libations included signature cocktails, like The Gordy-hattan, and wines by the bottle.
The Moments
Stages board of directors member Ralph Burch and his guests, Vicki West and Mario Gudmundsson, enjoyed a Vincent Latour Chassagne-Montrachet from Burch’s private wine locker at The Gordy. George Lancaster, Stages’ chair emeritus, entertained friends with cocktails in the fashionable Lancaster Lounge, which was named for him and crafted by the Allie Wood design studio. Time was also spent appreciating the fresh autumn air and admiring the works of Paul Fleming in the Edmundson Gallery and Sarah C. Ferguson in the Lancaster Lounge.
