Zane Carson Carruth is the founder and president of Carson Marketing, LLC, a full-service marketing firm offering integrated business solutions to small and midsize businesses. Her 25 years of marketing experience have earned her a great deal of respect in the field.

 

Zane is also a certified business protocol and etiquette specialist. Her articles on etiquette appear in a variety of high-end regional magazines, including CKW LUXE. Zane understands that good social etiquette can provide people with the tools they need to navigate unfamiliar territory. Aware of the doors such skills open, Zane offers business etiquette classes to nonprofits who work with underprivileged women and men. 

 

Zane is also a children’s book author and has published two books and a coloring book in her award-winning trademarked series, The World’s First Tooth Fairy…Ever. Her third book, The Legend Begins, will be published in the fall of 2020.

 

As a children’s author, Zane understands the value of childhood literacy and does everything she can to promote early childhood reading. One of her greatest joys as an author is sharing her books with young children. Zane sponsored a performance of the Houston Grand Opera’s Storybook Opera at the Northland Christian School and donated a signed copy of one of her books to every child in Pre-K through first grade. Over 125 students left the performance with their own book. The Houston Grand Opera and Discovery Green Conservatory held a three-day spring-break event based on her first book.  Every child in attendance over the three-day period received their own autographed copy.  Zane also has donated several hundred of her books to the nonprofit organization Books Between Kids.

 

Living a generous life was instilled in Zane as a child by her mother who was active in donating her time and resources to those less fortunate. It was a way of life for her while growing up and continues to this day. When not writing, Zane gives generously of her time, compassion, and expertise to the City of Houston. As a supporter of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, she has worked closely with those diagnosed with Crohn's Disease to understand the effect it has on a person’s daily life.

 

Proud to call Houston home, Zane generously gives of her time and resources to ensure it remains one of the top cities in the nation. She has done an incredible job of fundraising for causes that are near and dear to her heart. Zane and her husband, Brady, chaired the 2017 Houston Grand Opera Ball, which raised $1.7 million; the 2019 10-year anniversary Discovery Green Conservancy Gala, which raised $1.2 million; and the 2019 SPCA Gala, which was held in the beautiful new Carruth Education Center.

 

Zane has served as a member of the Houston Grand Opera board since 2015 and is part of the marketing and communications committee as well as the special events committee. As well, she sits on the SPCA board of directors in the capacity of assistant secretary and serves on the capital campaign committee for the new campus. Giving herself fully to the latter, especially, Zane has personally raised over $3 million for it. She has been on the board of directors of Discovery Green Conservatory for three years and is chairman of the marketing committee. She is also vice president of the Carruth Foundation.  

 

Zane is honored to have been named an ABC13 Woman of Distinction for 2020. She is also honored to serve as First Lady of the Rodeo for the 2021 to 2023 seasons. Her husband was recently named chairman-elect of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. They are both looking forward to promoting Houston through the world-renowned event.

 

Zane and Brady are proud thoroughbred horse owners and racing fans. Currently they are eagerly awaiting the birth of the first foal of their brood mare, Giant Boxer, and Kentucky Derby winner Big  Brown. Zane’s most cherished time is spent with her husband Brady; daughter, Brittany; son-in-law Adam; Brady’s sons, Trent and Buddy; daughter-in-law, Kylie; and grandchildren, Chloe, Carson, and Truett. 

 

It is for all the reasons mentioned above, and many more, that Zane Carson Carruth has been named a Top 20 Inspiring Woman Impact Maker for 2020.
