Roslyn Bazzelle Mitchell is a fierce advocate for her clients and the causes that speak to her heart.

Born in the Houston area, Roslyn spent her formative years between Orange, Texas and Hockessin, Delaware before settling in Houston in 2003.  She received her Bachelor of Arts in political science from Hampton University in 1996 and her Juris Doctor, Cum Laude from Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law in 1999.

Roslyn has always been dedicated to helping others. It is her belief that “you become strong by lifting others up, not pulling them down.”  She has been practicing law for 22 years and handles commercial real estate, corporate, and intellectual property matters at her new law firm, RBM Law Group, PLLC.

To fuel her creative and artistic side, Roslyn launched RoKi Design in 2020. RoKi specializes in creating custom silk scarves, repurposing luxury scarves into fashionable accessories, and collaborating with artists and community organizations.

Roslyn believes that blessings are to be shared and given as gifts to those with the greatest needs. One of her favorite Bible verses comes from Philippians 2:3-4. It states, “Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others”.

Through the years, Roslyn has given her expertise, time, or talents to several important organizations. It all began over ten years ago when she started volunteering for the American Diabetes Association. Currently, Roslyn serves on the boards of Hermann Park Conservancy, CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women) Houston, and The Downtown Group. Most recently, she cochaired Evening in the Park benefiting Hermann Park Conservancy and the auction for Tee Up for TEACH (To Educate All Children). In 2019 and 2020, Roslyn chaired the auction for Heart Ball benefiting the American Heart Association. Prior to that, she cochaired Fashions In the Field benefiting Recipe for Success, Teddy Bear Check-up benefiting The Health Museum, and Project Row Houses’ 25th Anniversary Gala.

Roslyn is also a sought-after speaker on legal, business, and health and wellness topics for various organizations. For example, she has addressed the State Bar of Texas CLE Program; the South Texas College of Law CLE Program; the Texas Black Expo; the Honey Child Prenatal Education Program, sponsored by the March of Dimes; the American Bar Association; the University of Houston; Texas Southern University; and the Houston Bar Association.

In recognition of her expertise and contributions to the community, Roslyn has been named a 2021 Crohn’s & Colitis Woman of Distinction,  named a 2020 Houston Chronicle Best Dressed Honoree, named a 2020 Dynamic Woman by Houston Modern Luxury Magazine, named a 2018 Fresh Face of Fashion by Tootsies and Houston Modern Luxury Magazine, named a 2018 Top 30 Influential Woman of Houston, named a Texas Rising Star by Texas Super Lawyers Magazine, named a 2013 Rising Star by the Ivy Educational and Charitable Foundation, Inc., and named a 2010 Top 25 Woman of Houston.

When she is not busy lawyering or giving back, Roslyn carves out some “me” time to sing and record her favorite tunes. Above all else, her heart and soul are for her family, and she is a devoted wife to husband, Derrick M. Mitchell, and loving mother to Derrick “D.”
It is for all the reasons mentioned above, and many more, that Roslyn Bazzelle Mitchell has been named a Top 20 Inspiring Woman Impact Maker for 2022.
