Sherri Zucker’s passionate and artistic nature makes her an ideal fit for many notable Houston nonprofits to which she donates her support, creative abilities, and energy.

Sherri was raised in Miami Beach, Florida. She attended the University of Miami and spent her summers modeling in NYC. Soon after finishing college, Sherri moved to Houston where she immersed herself in the philanthropic community. Here, she also founded Brittany Blake Interiors, an award-winning, full-service interior design firm named after her daughter, Brittany.

A member of the American Society of Interior Designers and a TBAE licensed interior designer, Sherri is known for creating innovative and luxurious projects in residential, commercial, and multi-family structures. Her firm has been rated a top ten design firm by the Houston Business Journal. As the first woman to import marble and granite into the United States and execute commercial installations, she is known to many as an innovator.

Over the years, Sherri has generously donated her time, talent, and resources to help raise money in a variety of roles for numerous charitable organizations, including: American Cancer Society’s Corks & Forks; Baylor College of Medicine’s 75th Anniversary Gala; Cerebral Palsy Telethon; Child Advocates; Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation Winter Ball, which honored her in 2021 as a Woman of Distinction; the Cystic Fibrosis Holiday Spree Gala, which she founded and chaired numerous times; Houston Children’s Charity; March of Dimes; Multiple Sclerosis Society; KNOWAutism Art Auction and River Oaks District Pop-Up Art Gallery, also cochairing the 2022 April in Paris Ball; Mission of Yahweh, where she was honored as an Inaugural Woman of Substance in 2017 and which she cochaired in 2019; Ronald McDonald House; The Variety Club; and The Women’s Resource of Greater Houston.

Utilizing her notable creative abilities, Sherri designed, and donated, all furnishings for The Barbara Taylor Bradford/Barbara Bush Literacy Library for Mission of Yahweh, Dave Ward’s office at Crime Stoppers, ESCAPE Family Resource Center, and multiple Baylor Teen Health Clinics.

Sherri’s compassionate nature has led her to serve on the boards of various organizations, such as: Baylor Foundation for Teen Health Clinics, Texas Gulf Coast Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, ESCAPE Family Resource Center, Houston20, and KNOWAutism.

As one of the founding members of Houston 20 Fight for Us, an anti-sextrafficking organization, Sherri passionately dedicated countless hours to ensure this young organization took a stronghold in the community. In less than five years, it has! She was actively involved in raising funds for its luncheons, co-underwriting its first fundraiser, and cochairing the last three luncheons including the most recent. Sherri was also instrumental in locating a facility for survivors of sex trafficking and their children to purchase. Currently, it is being renovated and Sherri worked tirelessly to obtain donations for construction materials, to create collaborative partnerships, and to recruit volunteers for this endeavor.

Always there to help those in need, Sherri and her staff secured housing and furniture for over 350 people when Hurricane Katrina hit. This monumental task gained the attention of the United Way. In recognition for her community involvement, business acumen, and charitable efforts, Sherri was honored in 1996 by the Texas Gulf Coast Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation with The Sierra Award. In 2017, she was named one of Houston’s 25 Most Beautiful by H Texas Magazine. She was also named a Houston Treasure in 2021 by The Social Book. In 2019, Crime Stoppers honored her with the Women Who Shape Houston Award, and in 1990 City of HOPE presented Sherri with the Spirit of Life Award.

When not working or giving back to the community, Sherri loves to travel the world learning about new cultures and adding to her myriad of collections. Her travels have also afforded her time to enjoy her affinity for the arts, visiting museums, going to the theater, attending musical events, enjoying fine dining, reading, antiquing at Les Puces in Paris, and being on the water. A devoted friend, she is the consummate entertainer, planning parties for various occasions. This has enabled her to spend additional time with cherished friends and family, which is extremely important to her.

It is for all the reasons mentioned above, and many more, that Sherri Zucker has been named a Top 20 Inspiring Woman Impact Maker for 2023.
