Chase Robison is president and CEO of Avalon Advisors, LLC, a Texas-based independent registered investment advisor offering proprietary investment management and financial advice for individuals, families, and institutions. The company’s headquarters are in Houston. It also has an office in San Antonio. The firm is privately owned by Avalon employees and outside investors, including local families and The Cynosure Group (a family office based in Salt Lake City, Utah). Founded in 2001, Avalon Advisors offers a full suite of internally managed strategies, including domestic and international equities and fixed income, as well as access to select alternative strategies and private investments.


Before joining Avalon, Chase spent 18 years working in investment, strategy, operations, and consulting positions, most recently spending several years focusing on private equity investments at a family office. He has held leadership roles in corporate finance, strategy, and operations at Reliant Energy and in management consulting at Ernst & Young.


Chase received his BA and MBA in finance from the University of Texas at Austin in 1991 and 1997 respectively. A devoted husband and father, Chase is married to Beth Robison. He and Beth have two children, Braxton and Kate. Chase loves being outdoors. His favorite pastimes are skiing, hiking, hunting, and photography.


A native Houstonian, Chase is a valuable member of the community who believes in giving generously of his time to many outstanding organizations. He is a proud member of the Kids’ Meals board of directors and was chairman from 2008 to 2010. In 2014, Chase served as co-chairman. He has prepared and delivered thousands of meals for the organization and has served as an expert advisor. More than any other individual, Chase has engaged more companies, private citizens, and foundations with Kids’ Meals. He has been a leader on the Kids’ Meals finance committee, strategic planning committee, and development and governance committee.


Chase has played a huge role in the growth of the organization. Thanks to the long-time support of Chase and his wife, Beth, Kids’ Meals will reach its goal of delivering one million meals in 2020.


In 2014, Chase and Beth received the Burrell Legacy Award. This honor is bestowed in recognition of the recipients’ outstanding contributions and the legacy of hope they bring to the Houston community and to children in need.


Chase is also Chair of the Advisory Council of the MD Anderson Cancer Center UTHealth Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and is a member of the UTHealth Development Board. As well, he has served as a member of both the executive committee and the finance committee of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church and as a member of the Leadership Cabinet of Texas Children’s Hospital.


Chase gives abundantly of his time, expertise, and resources to his community and to many of the vital organizations that are so important to its inhabitants. By doing so, he is leaving a legacy of kindness that will help future generations.
