Dr. Franklin Rose is a plastic surgeon dedicated to helping every patient look their best, while feeling the very best about themselves, and to providing certain charitable procedures to survivors of breast cancer.

Dr. Rose is a nationally recognized and board-certified plastic surgeon and the expert physician at the helm of Utopia Plastic Surgery and Med Spa in Houston. In addition to performing cosmetic surgery procedures like breast augmentation and tummy tuck, Dr. Rose and his team offer a variety of noninvasive treatments.

Dr. Rose earned his medical degree at the University of Colorado and went on to complete an internship at the University of California, followed by a general surgery residency at Yale University and Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed his plastic surgery residency, as well as a fellowship in plastic surgery and microsurgery, at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Dr. Rose also completed an aesthetic plastic surgery fellowship at New York University Institute of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Due to his extensive experience in aesthetic care, artistic skill, and talent for achieving natural results, Dr. Rose is often called the leading plastic and cosmetic surgeon in the Houston area. He has been featured on the television shows, Dr. Phil and I Want a Famous Face, and interviewed as a plastic surgery expert by CNN, ABC News, USA Today, and many other leading media outlets.

Dr. Rose is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Texas Medical Association, and the Lipolysis Society of North America.

In recognition of his accomplishments, Dr. Rose has been named an American Top Surgeon by the Consumers’ Research Council of America,  a Houston Top Doctor by H-Texas Magazine, and a Top Doctor by Inside Houston.

In 2005, Dr. Rose and his wife, Cindi Harwood Rose, founded the Holly Rose Ribbon Foundation (Foundation) for very personal reasons. After learning that Cindi’s sister Holly Harwood Skolkin had been diagnosed with breast cancer, and that over 45 million other such Americans are without health insurance, Dr. Rose and Cindi made it their mission to help those in need. They created the Foundation to provide free reconstructive surgery to post-cancer patients, including men, women, and children, who are not able to afford health insurance. Today, the Foundation underwrites reconstructive surgery for worthy patients each year. Although the Foundation’s primary focus is for breast cancer survivors, it also grants college scholarships to those who have cancer or who have lost a parent to cancer, supports hospital art programs for children with cancer, and contributes to outreach, research, and grief counseling programs.

Yoga is one of Dr. Rose’s many interests. Fast flow yoga—a fast-paced form of the practice, in which the poses are performed with constant movement from one to the next—is a daily routine for him that he finds calming. He and Cindi are also opera lovers and are avid supporters of the Houston Grand Opera. Each of them has been a member of its board in the past.

Dr. Rose is the proud father of daughter, Erica, and son, Benjamin. He is also a doting grandfather, and one of his greatest joys is spending time with his five grandchildren: Holland, Aspen, Selma, Violet, and Josephine.

It is for all the reasons mentioned above, and many more, that Dr. Franklin Rose has been named a Top 20 Inspiring Man Impact Maker for 2023.
